Loved the travel stuff! I’ll be going over those suggestions and tips for a long time. I especially liked the hack for having time to put your shoes and belt back on during the security check!
Just a note: I think he meant to say “transformer” when talking about what you typically don’t need for your power brick. A transformer changes voltages, while an inverter changes the electricity from DC (car batteries, etc.) to AC (plug-in-the-wall type) as he mentioned in the solar setup part. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inverter_(electrical)
The technical stuff was great too, of course! A bit over my head in some areas, but if I already knew it all, it wouldn’t be so great to listen to.
At first i just want to apologize my pour english. Im actually a Brazilian guy who was messing around at the iTunes podcast section and found this feed. Now i want to thank u guys for this nice podcast, ts the 1st that i listen and I’m sure it won’t be the last. Great work, i loved ur voices and i love the talk show. I’m really really pleased to have found this feed. I mean, I’m not a traveler, I’m not a studio guy, I’m just a regular mac user, but i can’t put on the table how much i learned on a single podcast. And cuz of that i thank u guys.
At the ending i got so happy when u guys told u were gonna talk about automator and stuff. I`ve been trying somethings on it, like every time i login a script verifies my network and if I’m at home it connects me at all my smb places, and things like this can looks like simple but at the long run u save u a lot of time. It would be great listen some tips about what automator can do for us (MPUers).
Thank u guys.
Here is one more tip for connecting all your power plugs into a foreign power outlet.
Rather than packing a bunch of plug converters. I pack a power strip with plenty of outlets and of course a surge protector build inn. Now you only have to use one plug converter for all your devices. Besides that you wan’t run out of outlets in your hotel room any more
I totally got the “pencil” reference for the password. I used to use that as my dummy password when I was writing code on my Apple IIe. War Games is a great movie!
Hi,
Thanks for you show, which is really great and always threats subjects I’m sensitive to.
I am just wondering since a couple of weeks why you had changed from the new music theme to the old one?
I though it was a good idea to change, plus the added value of a music played one of our hosts!

I am a regular listener and always enjoy and benefit from MPU podcasts. I particularly like the workflows shows. Alex Lindsday’s workflows was easily one of your all-time best programs. Outstanding content from beginning to end interspersed with excellent insights and practical, solid advice. Five stars to you, David and Katie, for not only maintaining a high standard, but for continuing to elevate it with each and every show. Bravo and thank you!
