    Dave and Katie,

Just wanted to say I love your show. I’m a Switcher and have been going through all your old shows getting up to speed (I love my new Mac!).

I had a workflow I wanted to share regarding mind mapping and Omnifocus. I use iThoughts(HD) and Mind Node for project planning. I lay out all the steps and parts of a large project in my mind map then I go back and create sub projects and tasks.

I then export my maps to a Dropbox folder and run a Hazel rule that take any OPML files in that folder and runs an apple script to import those projects into Omnifocus. In Omnifocus, I review the project one more time while I go through and assign context.

      Hi Charles,

I was wondering if there is any way to sync between iThoughtsHD and Mindnode on a mac? I have dropbox, it’s just the file formats I’m not familiar with at all! I only got Mindnode today, and can’t seem to find anywhere mentioning what files they’ll both happily swap with one another :-/

I appreciate any help at all!

      Dave

      Charles,
Can you share the applescript you run in Hazel to import the opml into omnifocus? I’d love to use that workflow.

Another great use of 1password, especially this time if year is the storage of your tax return. I just add the PDF of my return into 1password as a secure note and know that I have a secure copy.

I would have thought that you would include a link to the color scheme you mentioned :) That’s one thing I fixated on and would like to know more about, but cant remember what it was called and have to go back and review the audio (unless you want to post it here :) )

Ugh. I’m an idiot, of course I read the list carefully before posting then on a whim scroll through one more time and there it is. This is why I shouldn’t work on Sunday.

I love your show and you both are great. Your podcasts are at the top of my list and I’ve dipped far back to ones I missed (including the older Merlin Mann one :-) ). This one was helpful and I have enjoyed many including the recent Bret Terpstra one. I’ve added many a program based on recommendations here and I’m soon headed to 1password.

Quick comment on the Omni Sync Service. This is definitely not reaedy for production use. I own and use Omni Focus, Omni Graffle Pro, and Omni Outline Pro. I set it up to use the Omni Sync service this morning.

It is short sighted and foolish for Omni to not make this ready for Drop Box. We pay top dollar for their product and on the mac our major options are now the unusable Omni Sync, the outdated Mac Mobile service – (which now that I switched on Omni focus I may never see again) and using your own home network.

The OMNI SYNC is slow, incredibly slow, and buggy to the tune of losing several OmniOutline files that I’d worked on. Luckily I backed up the main one I had worked on. A 10 second or more sync on what should be a fast interim save makes this unusable. The lack of stability dooms this system and means it is worse than or at best an alpha service. Good try after such a long wait, but they should just set it up for Drop Box. The setup was clear, but the functioning is just awful.

I am not a fan of the lack of transparency in file structure and tree of iCloud. I use it where I must but prefer Dropbox.
